Restaurant Guy Savoy has been honored in Wine Spectator’s 2012 Restaurant Wine List Awards along with Old Homestead at Caesars Palace. Restaurant Guy Savoy once again grabs its coveted Grand Award while Old Homestead received its first Award of Excellence.
Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Wine List Awards criteria are based on the restaurant’s wine list’s selection and its pairing with the restaurant’s menu as well as the general appeal to wine lovers. Vintages and appellations for all selections, presentation and appearance of the list and complete producer names are among the bases for judging the wine lists.
The program’s top level Grand Award winners usually offer 1,500 or more wine selections, serious breadth of top producers, exceptional depth in mature vintages, superior organization, presentation, wine service and large-format bottles. Award of Excellence titleholders offer least 100 selections, list of a well-chosen collection of quality producers, and a thematic match to the menu in both style and price.
Restaurant Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace is a five-time winner of the Grand Award which offers gourmet dining from French Chef Guy Savoy’s only U.S. dining business. Guests can enjoy the Michelin starred restaurant’s signature dishes including the silky artichoke, black truffle soup and caviar’s decadent colors which perfectly match with an impressive wine list and dessert cart. The restaurant also offers prix fixe menu and a la carte options. Restaurant Guy Savoy is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 5:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.
Known as one of New York City’s most historic restaurants Old Homestead Steakhouse at Caesars Palace is also this year’s Award of Excellence winner. It features delectable dishes from the classic New York menu and excellent steakhouse selections. Robb Report’s August 2012 issue named the classic eatery’s signature 26-ounce bone-in, 30-day dry-aged Gotham rib as one of Las Vegas’ seven best steaks.
