1st Sgt. Thomas B. Lund and wife attended the 237th Marine Corps Birthday BallAfter 20 years of service, 1st Sgt. Thomas B. Lund celebrated his retirement from the military on Friday, November 9, 2012 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Sgt. Lund and his wife attended the 237th Marine Corps Birthday Ball, and experienced a dream night in Las Vegas. The property surprised Sgt. Lund with a retirement gift. He received once-in-a-lifetime complimentary luxe accommodations in the infamous “Real World Suite” located in the property.

Before a romantic couple’s massage at the master bedroom, Sgt. Lund played at the suite’s bowling alley where he rolled a lucky strike and he also tried to play the pool game. They were also groomed for the 237th Marine Corps Birthday Ball in the evening. A cake inspired with Uncle Sam’s hat was presented to Sgt. Lund and the couple was treated to Banana’s Foster.

The couple loved watching the MTV hit reality show “The Real World” together. During Sgt. Lund’s deployment to Afghanistan he would watch old episodes of the show. The couple’s favorite season is the Las Vegas season at Hard Rock Hotel. Since Mrs. Lund wanted to give her husband a complete bang for his new life after the retirement, she emailed the property asking for a night in the suite and they complied by giving the sweetest Veterans Day gift for a military member.
