City’s Hottest Chefs Cook To Fight Childhood Hunger In Las Vegas
With a passion to fight childhood hunger, Las Vegas’ hottest chefs, restaurants, and mixologists will gather for Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation®, the city’s premier culinary benefit. Taste of the Nation Las Vegas will raise critical funds needed to support Share Our Strength’s efforts to end childhood hunger in the Las Vegas valley and across the nation. This year’s event will be Wednesday, June 2 at Rain Nightclub at the Palms Casino Resort from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm, with a VIP reception beginning at 5:30 pm.
More than 30 of the city’s finest chefs and restaurants will participate in the gastronomic event. Along with Chef Carlos Guia of The Country Club – a New American Steakhouse, Taste of the Nation Las Vegas Restaurant Chairman, participating restaurants will include Aureole at Mandalay Bay, Emeril’s New Orleans Fish House at MGM Grand, Rosemary’s Restaurant, N9NE Steakhouse at the Palms, RM Seafood at Mandalay Bay, and many more! Guests will enjoy the city’s finest cuisine paired with great wines and signature cocktails.
In addition to fabulous food and drinks, the event will feature an exquisite silent auction with once in a lifetime items and a spirited live auction hosted by the popular radio and television personality, Nate Tannenbaum.
This year’s event also offers something special for VIPs, including a champagne reception and early entrance to the event giving time to mix and mingle with the chefs. All VIP guests will receive a gift bag to take away from the event with fun gifts from local businesses and retailers.
“It is an honor to continue our involvement with this nationwide movement to end childhood hunger in America,” said Chef Guia, Taste of the Nation Las Vegas Restaurant Chairman. “The finest of Las Vegas’ culinary world comes together during Taste of the Nation and helps the children in our community who suffer from hunger every day.”
Area charities that will benefit from this year’s event include Three Square Food Bank, Catholic Charities of Las Vegas, UNCE Chefs for Kids and Project MANA. Since 1988, Taste of the Nation has raised more than $70 million for organizations in the United States, Canada and abroad, including almost $1 million in Las Vegas alone.
With more than 12 million children facing hunger in America, Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation works to end childhood hunger in the United States and abroad by ensuring that children and their families have reliable access to nutritious food, and by addressing the deeper causes of these conditions. Funds raised through Taste of the Nation events provide grants to organizations in the United States, Canada and abroad that work successfully to end childhood hunger.
“An end to childhood hunger in the United States is within reach,” said Bill Shore, Founder and Executive Director of Share Our Strength. “With all the participants in Taste of the Nation Las Vegas sharing their strengths, we are creating more resources for the greater good of the Las Vegas valley and our great nation.”
