New York-New York Treats Guests To “Screamers - The Haunted Bridge” For Halloween

New York-New York Hotel & Casino is treating its guests and fans of Halloween to the inaugural “Screamers – The Haunted Bridge” now through Sunday, Nov. 2.  The terrifying haunted house, built along the resort’s Brooklyn Bridge, has been created by Creeations Fabrications, the popular design company who has created and fabricated props and sets for more than 10 years for a variety of entertainers and their respective shows, both locally and internationally.  These shows include Siegfried & Roy, Steve Wyrick, Fashionistas and Nathan Burton, among others.

Many of the props from these past and present icons have been included in the haunted enclosure.  Additionally, more than 25 actors have been ornately costumed and specially trained for this event which will include dark mazes and scary talent sure to create horrific sights and sounds throughout the attraction.

Admission to The Haunted Bridge is only $20 per person with a discounted ticket price of $15 for all New York-New York hotel guests.  Guests of all ages are allowed to enter but children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.  Doors open at 6 p.m. and remain open until 2 a.m.  Tickets are available for purchase at the Zumanity box office inside New York-New York or outside at the Haunted Bridge event entrance.  For more information, call (702) 740-6969.

SUSHISAMBA Strip’s Spooky Kabooki To Cast Spell Over Las Vegas This Halloween

SUSHISAMBA to Continue Costume Celebration with its Popular Cosplay in Early 2009.

This Halloween, SUSHISAMBA strip at The Palazzo Las Vegas takes inspiration from the highly stylized, mask-like makeup and outrageously colorful costume of traditional Japanese Kabuki theater with Spooky KaBOOki.  From its bizarre stylizations and outlandish characters, to its unique stage techniques and keren (visual tricks) - the concept of Kabuki will be brilliantly transformed and shockingly brought to life at SUSHISAMBA’s Halloween celebration on Friday, Oct. 31.

Since it was first created in 1603, Kabuki theater has captured the minds and hearts of audiences across Japan and the world.  Kabuku, which means “to be out of the ordinary,” is the basis of Kabuki, which means “avant-garde.”

SUSHISAMBA’s signature colors and décor of orange and black lends itself well to this ghoulish holiday, which will only further heighten the senses during this special Halloween night.  Bold diners who dare arrive in head to toe costumes can compete as well.  This year’s frighteningly fun festivities will include:
   -A killer costume contest
*1st place $200 SUSHISAMBA gift certificate*
*Runners-up will each receive a $100 gift certificate*
   -Terror-ific tunes by DJ Dracula

SAMBAkids will enjoy free Japanese candy, as well as Spooky KaBOOki’s Dracula dessert special which consists of Coca Cola gelee, vanilla bean ice cream, and raspberry foam, topped with berry blood drops and pop rock explosions.

SUSHISAMBA will also offer the Spooky KaBOOki cocktail special with one oz. pearl pomegranate vodka, one oz. blood orange puree and one oz. mango juice shaken with ice and poured into wine glass, drizzled with grenadine then garnished with a blood orange ring floating on top, with a green straw through the middle to finish the look of a pumpkin.

On Halloween, SUSHISAMBA will be open during its regular hours.  Open for lunch at 11:30 a.m. and serving until 3 a.m., however, showcasing costumes and cultures at SUSHISAMBA does not conclude with Halloween and Spooky KaBOOki either.

Early next year, SUSHISAMBA strip will debut its popular Cosplay, a conjunction for “costume play.”  Already a popular nightlife staple in locations including Miami, the concept originated in Japan where like-minded friends would gather in places such as Tokyo’s Harajuku or Akihabara district, decked out costumes inspired by anime (animation), tokusatsu (special effects), manga (comic books) or video games.  During Cosplay, staff members will be dressed in costumes, making it appear as though it is Halloween all year long.  While wearing costumes will not be mandatory for guests, those who do will be eligible for a cash prize.  Cosplay will take place every week.

For reservations or more information, call (702) 607-0700.
