Terrible’s Primm Valley Casino Resorts Presents Rey Misterio Sr. And Jr. In The Star Of The Desert Arena

Terrible’s Primm Valley Casino Resorts presents the father-son Lucha Libre wrestling team of Rey Misterio Sr. and Jr. for the first time in Southern Nevada as they compete in the Star of the Desert Arena at Buffalo Bill’s Resort at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13.

“We’re very excited about wrestling in the Las Vegas area for the first time,” said Misterio Sr., who has been a superstar in Mexican wrestling for decades. “Our matches are always exciting and entertaining, but because my son and I are on the same card and because it’s our first time here, we have a few surprises planned as well.”

Lucha Libre began in Mexico almost 100 years ago earning a place in the country’s culture. It has gained stature in Mexico and other Latin countries ever since. Lucha Libre performers are known as luchadores. The sport differs from wrestling in the U.S. in that luchadores are traditionally quicker and perform more aerial maneuvers than their American counterparts. Because of the quick-paced athleticism and the daring, unique maneuvers of the luchadores, Lucha Libre has grown in popularity in the U.S. during the past 15 years. They also use intricate combinations in rapid-fire succession and apply complex submission holds while wearing masks during the competition. Other standout Lucha Libre wrestlers on the card will be announced at a later date.

Lucha Libre is at the Star of the Desert arena inside Buffalo Bill’s Resort & Casino. Tickets are $19.95 and $34.95 and are available online at www.primmvalleyresorts.com or by calling 1.800.FUN.STOP. As part of the complimentary ticket offer from Terrible’s Primm Valley Casino Resorts, 500 free tickets will be available for the event at www.primmconcerts.com. Doors open at 7 p.m. on Dec. 13 and the first match will begin at 8 p.m.
