Accessible through any mobile browser, the web application, developed by Runtriz, will allow direct communication with concierge, housekeeping, room service, transportation, valet, bell and butler services, along with resort information and insider offers.

Additionally, the in-room MediaHub will allow even the most tech-savvy guests of Octavius Tower to feel right at home. Caesars Palace Hosting Seventh Annual World Series of Poker Circuit January 19-30

For the seventh consecutive year, Caesars Palace Las Vegas will be hosting the widely-popular World Series of Poker Circuit, which is currently in the midst of its most successful season.

Caesars Palace is already home to many of the game’s most popular and exciting poker events – including the Caesars Classic, NBC Heads-Up Poker Championship, and last year’s inaugural WSOP Circuit National Championship.  But over the next two weeks, the primary focus will be on 12 gold ring events which are taking place from January 19-30.

The action begins Thursday at noon with a $350 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em tournament.  The following day, the biggest turnout of the entire series is expected when another $350 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em tournament takes place, with a duel entry opportunity for players.  Officially listed as Event #2, players may enter and play on either Friday or Saturday.  However, players who bust out on Friday have the opportunity to enter what amounts to the same tournament on the following day.  Thereafter, ten more gold ring events will be played, with the $1,600 buy-in Main Event Championship being held January 27-30.

“Caesars Palace has always carried with it a special aura — whether we’re talking about gambling, entertainment, or poker,” said Andy Rich, Director of Poker Operations for Caesars Palace.  “We’ve always been the ‘where it’s at” in Las Vegas.  Over the next 12 days, we’re rolling out the red carpet for thousands of poker players who are expected enter our events and play for a gold ring.  As the saying goes, ‘you can’t get a hit if you don’t stand up to the plate and take swing.”

This marks the first time ever that the WSOP Circuit has come to Las Vegas so early in the season.  In previous years, WSOP Circuit events have taken place in April.  However, with so many exciting activities happening in Las Vegas early in the year, more players than ever before will have the opportunity to participate in a WSOP Circuit event, many for the first time.

To encourage more players to give the WSOP Circuit a try, Caesars Palace is offering $70 buy-in Turbo Super Satellites, with $50 re-buys each morning starting at 10 am.  These Turbo Super Satellites will be held prior to the start of gold ring events (most of which start at noon).  The dailies will guarantee at least ten seats to be given away for that day’s event.  In short, it’s a less expensive way for many players to come in early and win a seat for a gold ring event at a fraction of the cost.

In addition, daily No-Limit Hold’em tournaments (non-gold ring events) take place most days at 9 am ($70 entry fee, with 3,000 in starting chips), 7 pm ($110 entry fee, with 10,000 in starting chips) and 10 pm ($85 entry fee, with 7,500 in starting chips).  The bottom line is – no poker room in Las Vegas (or anywhere for that matter) will host more tournaments over the next 12 days.  Moreover, cash games will be running inside the poker room around the clock.

Caesars Palace boasts one of the most luxurious poker rooms in the game.  The multi-million dollar facility located adjacent to the world-famous sportsbook and Pure nightclub has a special tournament room, which is adorned with the portraits of many of poker’s most legendary players.

This is the ninth WSOP Circuit stop of the season, following previous tournaments held in several other locations throughout the U.S.  The 2011-2012 season includes a total of 18 WSOP Circuit stops.

All tournament players become eligible to compete in the WSOP Circuit National Championship, which takes place at season’s end.  The top 100 players who qualify based on a points system will compete in a nationally-televised championship, which is expected to be played in late May.  Two guaranteed seats will be awarded at Caesars Palace and will go to the “Best All-Around Player” and the Main Event champion.

In previous year’s, some very notable names have won gold rings at Caesars Palace and added to their legacy as the best players in the game.  Previous WSOP Circuit Main Event Champions crowned at Caesars Palace include:

2006 – John Spadavecchia

2007 – Cory Carroll

2008 – Allen Cunningham

2009 – Justin Bonomo

2010 – Andrew Lichtenberger

2011 – Christopher Johnson

Mint 400 Has New Owners, Promoter, and Norm Johnson returns

The world-renowned General Tire Mint 400 Off-Road race has been acquired by the Martelli Brothers—partners in the nationally recognized marketing/production group, Mad Media. The brothers immediately signed a multi-year partnership with, Casey Folks, of the “Best in the Desert” fame, to manage the event, and has retained the race creator, Norm Johnson, as a consultant.

The Mint 400 will now become part of the “Best in the Desert American Off-Road Racing Series,” but will definitely remain open to privateers. Hundreds of race teams have indicated they are looking forward to the return of the Mint 400, and those glorious days of the late ‘60s and ‘70s. The Mint had its first race in April, 1968, and was proclaimed a classic after it first race by legendary motorsports commentator/journalist, Chris Economaki. The 2012 Mint 400 will take place the weekend of March 23-25, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Martelli brothers, Matt and Josh,  and Folks have already begun to improve the event (it was promoted by a local organization the last three years), by reinstating popular features from the Mint’s early years: A new 400-mile race course located in Jean, Nv. (where some of the original Mint 400 races were held), which will feature a high speed passing zone near a dedicated spectator area, as well as rocky washes, silt beds, high-speed graded roads, and even a notorious rock garden. The famous Miss Mint 400 contest has also been re-instated.

In helping to bring back those memorial events, Mad Media has reached out, and obtained, the assistance of its creator, Las Vegas resident and retired racer, Norm Johnson. Johnson was the director of advertising and publicity for the Mint Hotel in 1967, when he came up with the idea of an off-road race to promote the hotels Annual Deer Hunters promotion. The first Mint 400 was raced in 1968, and Johnson remained a consultant on the race for a number of years, working closely with former NASCAR racer, Mel Larson. Larson took command of the race in 1969, when Johnson was promoted to another Del Webb owned hotel, The Thunderbird, on the Las Vegas Strip.

“I think what Matt and Josh (the Martelli brothers) and Casey have in mind for the revival of the Mint, is absolutely what the race has needed,” Johnson said. “Casey is a true competitor (having won the motorcycle class in 1973-74), and has proven to be a great promoter of desert racing. He knows the desert and the history of the Mint 400!”

“We’ve expanded the reach of the Mint 400 dramatically, by increasing the TV coverage with our partner FUEL-TV, and by partnering with www.Race-Desert.com. for live tracking and web coverage during the race,” Joshua Martelli said. “We are determined to elevate the Mint 400 back to being the most important off-road motorsports event in the world, one year at a time.
