Rick Faugno Reprises Song And Dance Show Due To Popular Demand March 21 At South Point Casino

Broadway’s triple threat Rick Faugno (pronounced Fawn-Yo) will reprise his critically-acclaimed one-man song and dance show, “Songs My Idols Sang (And Danced!),” due to popular demand on Sunday, March 21, at 3 p.m. in the 400-seat South Point Casino Showroom. He’ll also be selling his new CD at the performance.

One of the Strip’s popular Broadway imports and the original Frankie Valli in “Jersey Boys” at the Palazzo, Faugno premiered his solo show last August at the South Point and to date has sold out three performances – all with standing ovations from his endearing audiences.

Faugno presents an 80-minute showcase of musical standards from the Great American Songbook, and he’s backed by what he refers to as his “baddest cats” – a seven-piece band with some of the best musicians from the Strip. He shares the significance of the many idols he admires of song and dance, including Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, and Sammy Davis, Jr.

Audiences enthusiastically witness his great ole’ fashioned singing and dancing with standards’ hits such as “Embraceable You,” “Fly Me To The Moon,” “Steppin’ Out With My Baby,” “Puttin’ On The Ritz,” “Cheek To Cheek,” “Our Love Is Here To Stay,” and “Mr. Bojangles.”

He created the show in 2009 with his long-time love Joyce Chittick, a fellow Broadway performer-choreographer, and his musical director Keith Thompson, the conductor of “Jersey Boys.” The show is based on Faugno’s life story on Broadway, and how he got to where he is today with the love and support of his family and many others while growing up in New Jersey, on to Broadway and to the Las Vegas Strip.

Tickets are priced at $20, $25 and $30. Call 797-8055 or buy tickets online at www.southpointcasino.com, and at the South Point Box Office, 9777 Las Vegas Boulevard South.

Faugno was honored this past holiday season in New York with his own caricature at Sardi’s, a famous Broadway theatre district eatery.

A New Jersey native, he first appeared on Broadway at age 12 in “The Will Rogers Follies.” His impressive career credits brought him to the Las Vegas Strip in 2008 to appear in “Jersey Boys,” and in 2009 he was named Best Singer by the staff of the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s Best of Las Vegas annual poll.

For future performance schedules and more information, visit his website http://web.mac.com/rickfaugno.

Crosby, Stills & Nash – Friday, June 4 At The Joint At Hard Rock Hotel & Casino

The legendary trio Crosby, Stills and Nash (CSN)—David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash—will tour the western United States in late spring, making a stop at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Friday, June 4. Tickets go on sale this Saturday at noon.

Most recently, CSN was a featured part of the all-star tribute to Neil Young – their longtime partner in Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young – at NARAS’ 2010 Person of the Year gala honoring Young that kicked off this year’s GRAMMY® weekend festivities.

In October 2009, CSN played at historic Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25th Anniversary concerts at Madison Square Garden in New York City. CSN was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. David Crosby has also been previously inducted for The Byrds, and Stephen Stills with Buffalo Springfield; at this year’s 2010 ceremony, Graham Nash will be dual-honored as well when The Hollies join the fold.

Also in 2009, David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash were inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame at a June 18 ceremony in New York City. That same month marked Rhino Records’ release of Demos. Featuring 12 previously unreleased tracks recorded between 1968 and 1971, Demos spotlights destined-to-be-classic songs later heard on CSN’s group and solo titles.

CSN’s music immediately became a cornerstone of rock ‘n roll with the group’s self-titled 1969 debut LP, now one of Rolling Stone’s “500 Greatest Albums of All Time.” That same year, they were honored with the GRAMMY award for Best New Artist. 1970’s Déjà Vu—another “500 Greatest”—followed, the first album from the group’s four-man line-up with Neil Young (CSN&Y). Ever since—through changing times and various configurations—Crosby, Stills & Nash have continued to tour and record as “three together.”
