    I don’t think a civil servant should be telling the President of the United States that he is not welcome in Las Vegas. I for one cancelled a trip to Las Vegas and although I go to Vegas 4 times a year will not be returning until Mayor Goodman apologizes to the President. This is politics at its worst.

    Dear Sir;
    Good for the mayor of Las Vegas. As a born and bred Canadian I have not been very impressed with your president since his emergence on the political scene.
    All I have heard from his mouth is the word “I”. His ego is getting in the way of what is good for the country. One man rule doesn’t make the grade.
    We have King Stephen Harper in Canada, and don’t need him either.
    I have enjoyed ten vacations in Las Vegas since my retirement 12 years ago and am sorry I missed the two times.
    And I do vacation more than I gamble!!
    Keep up the good work.

    Obama’s comments were nothing short of irresponsible. If you count the musicians and people who have given up looking for work in this town, unemployment is closer to 25%. I am blessed to still have a showroom in Las Vegas. This year HAS to be better than last year! Right?

    - Everyone needs a song and a laugh: See you in Vegas!

    I don’t think the President of the United States realizes what he is doing by saying things about Las Vegas in a negative light. To most people, Las Vegas is a playground, a place to get away from the madness of everyday life. Well, what about the people who live here is Las Vegas and make a living on the tourism that this city is revolved around. The people who check you in at your hotel, who serve you at those nice restaurants here in town, or the hosts who answer to the high rollers every beck and call no matter what, do you think they are robots? Do you think they shut down when there’s no business here? And the thousands of people who were laid off from the hotels last year due to Obama’s scrutinization on companies holding there annual conventions here. These people can’t even get a job at McDonald’s because they are over qualified. These are real people with families to support, bills to pay and lives to lead. Just because we live in Vegas doesn’t mean we are all “professional gamblers” or degenerates. The “playground” is limited to the Las Vegas Strip, outside of that is a real town with real people who are struggling because of the people who refuse to believe that the almighty President of the United States made a HUGE mistake by making the statements he did about our city. It’s costed us dearly and the pissed of people of Las Vegas will stand behind Mayor Goodman. A civil servant you say? Maybe that’s just what America needs. Someone who will work for the people rather than the big corporations. Funny how Mr. President never says anything not going to Disney World…
