Elvis Look-Alike To Be Crowned “El Rey de los Elvis” At Tacos & Tequila’s Mexican Independence Day Celebration
Tacos & Tequila (T&T) will “Rock Your Mundo” this Mexican Independence Day with a fiesta tribute to The King. The rock ‘n’ roll-inspired Mexican restaurant at Luxor is calling all Elvises to compete in “El Rey de los Elvis” competition Wednesday, September 15.
From small to tall, blonde to brunette, hippie to rock star and everything in between, Elvis aficionados one and all will show off their most creative Elvis costumes. Registration starts at 6 p.m. at Tacos & Tequila and includes a complimentary frozen daiquiri for any Elvis-clad individual. Contestants will walk the red carpet prior to the competition, where a trio of judges will choose the top three contestants based on style and creativity. The judging panel will include star of FANTASY Lorena Peril, Las Vegas socialite Michael Shulman and T&T’s very own mini Mariachi Elvis.
The most creative rendition of Elvis will take home $500 cash and the title of “El Rey de los Elvis,” while the second and third place contestants take home their share of $500 cash.
Kicking off Mexican Independence Day, Tacos & Tequila will celebrate with “Viva T&T” an entertaining, choreographed routine featuring an unlikely-threesome as they perform to a live Mariachi mash-up version of Elvis’ hit song, “Viva Las Vegas.” Guests will enjoy a variety of drink specials including $5 “Viva Las Vegas” Hornitos margaritas, $5 “Love Me Tender” Red Bull Sauza cocktails, $5 shots of “Burning Love” and $3 bottles of Dos Equis, while enjoying authentic sounds of T&T’s house mariachi band.
