College Of Southern Nevada Foundation Announces Run Of Events For Upcoming Fall Fun Fest

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) Foundation will host Fall Fun Fest at CSN’s Charleston campus Oct. 29 through 31, providing entertainment, food, beverages and activities for the entire family.

Each day of the festival will host a special theme. Attendees can celebrate Nevada Day on Friday. Saturday will see guests celebrating Halloween early by bringing the little ones by for safe trick-or-treating where CSN students will supply candy and treats to vendors. Sunday will support Clark County School District, CSN and Military, providing all employees, faculty and students with a 50 percent discount on Davis Carnival rides and Cox Kids’ Zone events and activities.

More than 75 arts and crafts vendors and 15 food and beverage vendors will be present at the festival, selling everything from handmade furniture and holiday decorations to porcelain dolls and homemade dog treats. Health booths will also be set up around the festival for flu shots, blood pressure testing, pulmonary testing and more. In addition, Nevada Beverage beer and wine tasting gardens will be open on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The festival’s entertainment stage will host performances back-to-back all weekend, showcasing performers of all kinds, including dance troupes, choirs, cultural groups, poetry readings and more. Friday and Saturday will end with a bang with concerts beginning at 6 p.m. Friday will host headliners The Vandals and Strung Out with openers Death By Stereo and Happy Campers. Saturday will welcome Unwritten Law and Big B with openers Battle Born and The Fact Remains. Headlining concerts are $15 in advance or $20 day of show. The Fall Fun Fest would not be complete without carnival food and rides galore. Carnival guests can purchase an all-day access pass for $25, enjoying more than 50 rides and games. The carnival area will be open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Young guests will enjoy the Cox Kids’ Zone, which will feature face painting, jump houses, arts and crafts, balloon animals and more. The area will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Characters from favorite children’s cartoons will roam the festival as well during “Meet Your Favorite Cox Character.” Fans can take photos with some of their favorite TV stars, including Patrick from “SpongeBob SquarePants” and Diego from “Go, Diego, Go.” Characters will be present Saturday and Sunday throughout the day.

Guests of all ages can gather for book signings from local authors, such as Deborah Coonts, author of “Wanna Get Lucky” and Kevin Janison, KSNV meteorologist and author of the “Deputy Dorkface” series. Book signings will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

All proceeds from the festival will go to the CSN Foundation, benefiting CSN student’s programs and scholarships. Admission to the event is free and various charges may apply once inside the festival. Parking is $5 per car or $20 for valet. The festival is located at CSN’s Charleston campus at 6375 W. Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas, Nev.
