Bellagio Las Vegas Announces 2011 Epicurean Epicenter Series

Bellagio, recipient of 10 consecutive AAA Five Diamond Awards, proudly presents the 2011 schedule for its extraordinary Epicurean Epicenter Series. Guests will watch talented chefs prepare their masterpieces and then moments later will savor the cuisine paired with wine from the world’s finest vintages.

The series consists of culinary events featuring the unparalleled talents of renowned Bellagio chefs including Julian Serrano, Akira Back, Martin Heierling and Edmund Wong along with rare vintages and varietals from celebrated wineries including Williams Selyem, Husic Vineyards and Araujo Estate.

“The Epicurean Epicenter Series offers the exemplary experiences Bellagio is known for in a setting unique to Las Vegas,” said Ana Marie Mormando, vice president of food & beverage at Bellagio. “We have brought together the finest chefs and wine labels in the world, providing our guests with once-in-a-lifetime experiences that will entertain and enrich their culinary appetites.”

The 2011 Epicurean Epicenter schedule of events is as follows:

Art & Wine: A Perfect Pairing – Second Wednesday of every month

Join Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art (BGFA) Director Tarissa Tiberti and Master Sommelier and Director of Wine Jason Smith as they host a creative event that will enrich the mind and please the palate. Art & Wine: A Perfect Pairing is held the second Wednesday of every month from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature art from BGFA’s current exhibit, “A Sense of Place: Landscapes from Monet to Hockney,” along with pairings that will vary from champagne to tequila to possibly beer, depending on the inspiration. At 6 p.m., guests will enjoy an interactive wine and art conversation with Tiberti and Smith. Cost is $30 for members and $38 for non-members. Williams Selyem and Le Cirque’s Gregory Pugin – Saturday, June 4

Indulge in an exceptional four-course menu by Le Cirque Executive Chef Gregory Pugin paired with the sumptuous handcrafted Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines of the Williams Selyem vineyard located in the Russian River Valley. Hosted by Master Sommelier and Director of Wine at Bellagio Jason Smith and Winemaker Bob Cabral at Williams Selyem, this is sure to be an evening to remember. The event begins at 7 p.m. in Tuscany Kitchen and tickets are $295 per person all inclusive.

Beer and Barbeque with Bellagio Executive Chef Edmund Wong – Saturday, July 2

Join Bellagio Executive Chef Edmund Wong for a BBQ, Tuscany Kitchen-style. For the second year, guests will be treated to a three-course menu paired with a unique beer-tasting menu for an unforgettable summertime experience. The event begins at noon in Tuscany Kitchen and tickets are $85 per person all inclusive.

Husic Vineyards and Prime’s Sean Griffin – Saturday, September 17

Experience the fine Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon of Husic Vineyards paired with delectable cuisine prepared by Prime Steakhouse Executive Chef Sean Griffin. Hosting this event will be Master Sommelier and Director of Wine at Bellagio Jason Smith and Frank Husic, owner of Husic Vineyards. The event begins at 7 p.m. in Tuscany Kitchen and tickets are $195 per person all inclusive.

Araujo Estate and Picasso’s Julian Serrano – Saturday, November 5

The legendary wines crafted at Araujo Estate take center stage for the final Tuscany Kitchen event of the year as they are paired with the extraordinary cuisine of Picasso Executive Chef Julian Serrano. On hand will be Master Sommelier and Director of Wine at Bellagio Jason Smith along with Daphne and Bart Araujo, owners of Araujo Estate. The event begins at 7 p.m. in Tuscany Kitchen and tickets are $325 per person all inclusive.

Poker’s Ultimate Bottle Tournament – Friday, November 11- Sunday, November 13

Guests will spend three luxurious days at Bellagio while enjoying food and wine, mingling with the resort’s Master Sommeliers and taking part in a Texas hold’em tournament in the Monet Ballroom with poker’s best players. This state-of-the-art demo kitchen is outfitted with top-of-the-line Viking equipment and the latest technology.
