The Original Andre’s Says Farewell
On December 31, 2008 “New Years Eve,” Andre’s French Restaurant located at 401 S. 6th St. will serve its final dinner celebration.
After 29 years of dining excellence, a long list of recognition, awards and accolades Chef André Rochat will turn his focus to his other two Las Vegas venues, the newly remodeled Andre’s Restaurant & Lounge at the Monte Carlo Resort and Alizé at the top of the Palms.
“Andre’s is a part of the evolutionary history of dining in Las Vegas, and we cannot talk about the history of dining without including the name of André Rochat, as a pioneer whose name is imbedded in the culinary annals of this great city” said R.H. Duke, Restaurant Reviewer from VEGAS! DINING OUT.
“Andre’s has served a special part in everyone’s heart” said André Rochat, the doyen of all Las Vegas Chefs. “Many young chefs and professionals in Las Vegas and abroad have passed through and trained at Andre’s over the years. I would like to thank the members of my staff for their service and dedication to their craft and unwavering quest for culinary and service excellence; without them, the past many years would not have been possible. I would also like to thank Mayor Oscar Goodman for all of his support over the years.”
“As we witness the sunset of another icon of old Las Vegas, we look forward to the sunrise of the new Las Vegas with continued success of Alizé at the top of the Palms and Andre’s at the Monte Carlo. André Rochat will continue to leave his mark on dining in the new Las Vegas, as he had in the old Las Vegas. Other culinartians have arrived in Las Vegas, and have left. André Rochat is still here – he has withstood the test of time!” explained R.H. Duke.
To all our loyal customers, thank you for your patronage over the past 29 years and we look forward to serving you at our sister properties.
Look for the grand re-opening of Andre’s Restaurant & Lounge at the Monte Carlo January 2009.
