Belgian Chef Unites With Chef Kerry Simon For Decadent Beer Dinner At Simon At Palms Place
WHO: Simon at Palms Place, the premier restaurant from Chef Kerry Simon, Elizabeth Blau and George Maloof.
WHAT: Chef Kerry Simon unites with seventh generation Van Steenberge Brewery owner Jef Versele and Acclaimed Belgian Beer Chef Achim Vandenbussche to present guests with a special collaborative dining experience. Each of the five dinner courses will be masterfully paired with a world-famous Belgian beer.
Beer Dinner Menu Includes:
* Appetizers – passed hors d’oeuvres by Chef Achim and cheese fondue with warm pretzel, market apples and genoa salami. This is paired with Monk’s Café – malty and slightly sour burgundy ale aged in oak. One of Van Steenberge’s oldest ales.
* Second course – moules frites; black mussels, garlic herb butter and crispy semolina fries. This course is paired with a 700 year old recipe, Augustijn, a light amber abbey ale.
* Third course – buttermilk marinated pork tenderloin, sautéed brussels sprouts and potato-apple-celery puree. The third course is paired with Piraat – a spicy golden triple with robust hop bitterness and 10.5% alcohol volume.
* Main course – ale braised lamb shank, roasted root vegetables and farro risotto. The main course is complimented by a Bornem Double authentic Trappist ale with velvety malt & hop flavors.
* Dessert – This creative pairing ends with a Belgian waffle with banana, nutella and whipped cream paired with Gulden Draak, a dark, rich barley wine with notes of chocolate and toffee.
