Rock Legend AC/DC Bring Black Ice World Tour To MGM Grand Garden Arena Saturday, October 3

Multi-platinum rock legend AC/DC announced it will bring its highly successful Black Ice World Tour, which kicked off in October 2008, to the MGM Grand Garden Arena Saturday, Oct. 3. The concert is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.

AC/DC’s newest album, Black Ice, is its first in more than eight years and was released worldwide in October 2008. Evident that the band remains an incredible force in the rock industry, Black Ice made history when it debuted at No. 1 on album charts in 29 countries. It also has the distinction of being Columbia Records’ biggest debut album since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales data in 1991.

Black Ice has been certified double platinum in the United States and multi-platinum in 18 countries including Australia, Canada, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Germany, France, Italy, Argentina and the Czech Republic. The band also won the Major Tour of the Year Award at the 20th Annual Pollstar Concert Industry Awards for its Black Ice World Tour, the band’s first since 2001.

AC/DC’s Black Ice World Tour has traveled across North America and Europe, garnering raves from critics along the way. Henry Northmore of The List wrote, “crashing through the back of the stage on a full-size locomotive is one hell of a way to make an entrance….” Billy Sloan of the California Chronicle described Angus Young’s (guitar) playing as “a revelation during AC/DC’s thundering set.”
