Down & Derby Roller Skating Disco Rolls Into The Joint At Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Beginning Oct. 8
The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino transforms into retro roller skating phenomenon Down & Derby, monthly from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. beginning Friday, Oct. 8.
Down & Derby returns to Las Vegas following a successful first run and finds a new home at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s legendary concert venue The Joint. Down & Derby puts a retro twist on nightlife and introduces roller skating to a whole new generation. The party on wheels features an exhilarating nightclub experience combined with 1970s roller disco décor. Partygoers are encouraged to dress the part by wearing their best throwback attire including neon spandex, headbands, wristbands, high socks, glitter and more.
“The Joint is the perfect venue for Down & Derby,” said Paul Davis, vice president of entertainment of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas. “We are excited to be able to host such a unique event each month in addition to the amazing concerts Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is known for.”
Set to a soundtrack of disco-inspired party anthems, Down & Derby features a candy bar, the hottest DJs, and skate-up VIP tables so skaters never have to remove their wheels. Resident mix master DJ SHR3D and special guests DJ OB-one, DJ Mike Attack!, DJ Supra and more tear up the turntables to keep skaters spinning and the party going late into the night. The unique nightlife event has transformed roller rinks in cities nationwide including New York City, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Los Angeles and St. Louis. Down & Derby has also been featured at a variety of events including Coachella and on national television programs such as “Good Day LA” and E!’s hit show “The Girls Next Door.”
“We’re excited to be back in Las Vegas and at our new home, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino,” said Richard Alexander, partner of Down & Derby. “The Joint is the hottest venue in Las Vegas and there is no better fit for Down & Derby.”
Down & Derby takes place monthly on Thursday, Friday or Saturday depending on The Joint concert schedule. Tickets are $15 and can be picked up at The Joint box office. Skate rental is available for $5. Guests are welcome to bring their own roller skates to the event. For additional information or to purchase tickets, visit www.downandderby.org or The Joint box office, open 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. daily with extended hours on event days.
