Donny & Marie To Unveil Revamped Version Of Their Popular Variety Show At Flamingo Las Vegas On May 17

One of the most popular acts on the Las Vegas Strip, America’s favorite brother-sister duo, Donny & Marie, will implement some exciting new changes to their show in the intimate Flamingo Showroom at Flamingo Las Vegas. Fans will have the opportunity to see the revamped show beginning Tuesday, May 17.

“Donny & Marie have been some of the most popular entertainers on the Las Vegas Strip for almost three years, and many of their fans come back over and over again to see the show,” said Rick Mazer, president of Flamingo Las Vegas. “We are very excited about the changes to the show, as it will give guests a whole new experience, whether they’ve seen Donny & Marie several times or if it’s their first time. I’m sure fans will return to see the new show again and again!”

The lively 90-minute variety show will still incorporate singing, dancing, comedy and the stars’ signature brother-sister banter. One of the most recognizable changes is the show’s new opening number, which features “It Takes Two” and “Vegas Love,” a song from the duo’s first album in 30 years, “Donny & Marie” which was released in May by MPCA Records. Immediately following the opening is the Dance Stomp, with an unforgettably energetic dance sequence set to “Get the Party Started,” “Dancing in the Streets,” “Knock on Wood,” “Higher” and “Dance to the Music.”

Marie’s portion of the show now includes a fun mash-up of “Walk this Way” and “These Boots Were Made for Walkin’,” which was inspired by the television show, “Glee.” The energy-filled country number includes line-dancing and an only-in-Vegas Swarovski crystal-covered electric guitar and cowboy boots. Marie also sings a new Broadway medley, featuring classics such as “All That Jazz,” “Cabaret,” “But the World Goes ‘Round” from the film “New York, New York” and “Somewhere” from “West Side Story.”

Donny will debut a fresh new version of “Yo-Yo,” the classic he recorded with his brothers 40 years ago. He also plays the piano for “Whenever You’re in Trouble,” a very personal song he wrote about one of his sons. The legendary brother and sister duo also have a special dance off inspired by the hit ABC show in which both of them appeared, “Dancing with the Stars.”

Recently celebrating their 500th show at Flamingo Las Vegas, Donny & Marie opened at the legendary center-Strip property on Sept. 9, 2008 and the worldwide response was so immediate and overwhelming that after only six weeks their original six-month contract was extended through 2011.

Donny & Marie perform at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday – Saturday.

Terry Fator at The Mirage Las Vegas

It was a full house Friday night as unparalleled ventriloquist Terry Fator celebrated the second anniversary of his hit show, Terry Fator: Ventriloquism in Concert at The Mirage. Media, VIPs, fans and guests lined up at the entrance of Terry Fator Theatre, anxious to get in and see the incredible headliner perform after Fator announced the addition of new puppet, Berry Fabulous. Songs and dialogue never before seen or heard were also in store and as 7:30pm approached, the lights went down and the music went up as Fator took center stage.

Fator opened the show with Phantom of the Opera, bringing Winston the Impersonating Turtle, one of Fator’s most adored puppets, out in a Phantom mask and having on-stage assistant Taylor Makakoa play the role of Christine. Visually stunning and full of energy, with lights, smoke and video, the audience burst into applause as soon as Fator hit the first note. From that moment on, it was a fun and joyful atmosphere inside the theatre as the audience laughed, clapped and cheered with each puppet that hit the stage. Berry Fabulous made a major debut, being rolled out on stage in a large closet. When the doors opened, all there was to see was gold and sparkle as Berry graced the stage and began his hysterically funny routine, singing songs by Judy Garland, Cher and Barbra Streisand.

At the end of the show, President & COO of The Mirage Felix Rappaport surprised Fator by bringing out a tiered cake shaped like Winston. Rappaport went on to congratulate Fator on the second anniversary of his show and wished him many more years of success at The Mirage. Fator was then presented with the key to The Mirage along with a large card signed by The Mirage team. Fator went on to thank The Mirage, his team and fans for their continued support. A special treat was in store for the audience as they received a signed photo of Fator and Berry Fabulous upon exiting the theatre.
