Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artist and Las Vegas headliner, Carlos Santana presents Andre Agassi with an autographed guitar for the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy’s music department.

Launching his partnership with the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artist and Las Vegas headliner Carlos Santana today joined Andre Agassi for a tour of the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy, meeting with children and offering his support. Santana is encouraging public donations through video messaging during his live performances of Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through the Hits this month. Santana’s high-energy rock fusion show is currently playing exclusively at The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

From now until February 21, audience members at Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through the Hits can donate to the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education in increments of $5 via text message. Concertgoers will be prompted to text the word “Kids” to 20222 in order to make a contribution. Messaging and data rates may apply and a one-time $5 donation is charged to the user’s wireless bill. The Andre Agassi Foundation for Education can receive donations through March 31via text or at any time through their web site at agassifoundation.org.

In collaboration with Santana’s visit to the school, and continuing in the spirit of supporting The Milagro Foundation, longtime licensees of Carlos Santana, PRS Guitars and Latin Percussion (LP) donated a PRS Santana SE electric guitar and a set of LP Santana Aspire series congas and shakers to the Academy’s music department. Like Carlos, both PRS and LP have enthusiastically partnered with local agencies and community organizations to inspire young musicians. Also, Sony Legacy Recordings who are releasing the 10th Anniversary edition of “Supernatural” have donated 700 copies of the most honored CD in Grammy History, Supernatural, to every student and faculty member in the school.

Carlos Santana’s Milagro Foundation is committed to assisting projects, schools and agencies that are working to support underserved children in developing college aspirations. Agassi Prep continues to achieve this goal with 100 percent high school graduation and college acceptance. “We applaud their efforts and are proud to be a part of this dream for the children of Las Vegas,” Shelley Brown, Executive Director, said. All funds raised during Miracle Mile Shops’ Give from the Heart Weekend will be donated to the American Red Cross to aid their earthquake relief efforts. There are several ways to be proactive and help people who are in desperate need of organ or tissue donation: fill out an organ and tissue donation card and register with the State Donor Registry, join the National Registry of potential volunteer marrow and blood stem cell donors, donate blood, and most simply, let family members know about the intention to be a donor.

Described as a “life-changing experience,” BODIES…The Exhibition is one of the most fascinating and educational experiences in Las Vegas. The real human bodies have been meticulously dissected, preserved through an innovative process and respectfully presented, giving visitors the opportunity to view the beauty and complexity of their own organs and systems like never before.

The $10 discount is only available February 14, 2010, and organ donors must present their ID with proof of donation to the Luxor box office when purchasing a ticket. Las Vegas Renowned Restaurateur and Philanthropist Gino Ferraro is raising funds to be donated to Red Cross for their efforts to aid Haiti.

Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar has been serving Las Vegas since 1985. Since, Ferraro’s has been a leader and staple in Italian fine dining and wine selection, quality standard and service.

The fundraising event will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 9 from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Ferraro’s new location on the corner of Paradise Rd. and Harmon Blvd. across from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

Food, water and monetary donations will be accepted and collected by Red Cross the evening of the event. In addition, Ferraro’s will be donating a portion of the evening’s food and bar proceeds to the Red Cross.

“Ferraro’s is excited about this mutual effort with local philanthropists to benefit Haiti’s people in need,” stated Gino Ferraro, founder of Ferraro’s. “Although many of us do not have immediate connections to Haiti, we are eager to assist because this is about being global citizens and treating the world as our neighbors.”
