Playboy Comedy Las Vegas Announces August Headliners
Award-winning Playboy Comedy announces August 2010 schedule. Hosted by Cort McCown and Paul Hughes, all shows take place inside The Lounge at the Palms Casino Resort. A longer lead schedule is listed below as well. A full schedule can also be found at www.playboycomedytour.com.
* August 5 through 7 – Shane Mauss (Last Comic Standing) & Kyle Dunnigan (Reno 911); special host Arden Myrin (MADtv)
* August 12 through 14 – Patrice O’Neal (The Green Room)
* August 19 through 21 – Jamie Kaler and Mike Bunin (“Men of My Boys Tour”)
* August 26 through 28 – Ian Bagg (Comedy Central) & April Macie (I Am Comic)
Playboy Comedy show times are as follows:
Thursday – 9 p.m.
Friday – 9 p.m.
Saturday – 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.
About Shane Mauss:
Shane Mauss recently debuted his first television special “Comedy Central Presents: Shane Mauss” in March which was accompanied by his first CD “Jokes to Make My Parents Proud.” Mauss will also perform on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” July 27, 2010. Mauss moved to Boston in 2004 to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a standup comedian. In less than three years, he caught his big break when he was awarded Best Standup Comic at HBO’s US Comedy Arts Festival in 2007. Current TV credits include three appearances on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” an appearance on Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham,” Showtime’s “Comics Without Borders” and what is easily his strangest television appearance to date: Playboy TV’s “Night Calls.” www.shanemauss.com.
About Kyle Dunnigan:
Kyle Dunnigan has appeared in many stand-up specials on Comedy Central including his own Comedy Central Presents Kyle Dunnigan. He has made appearances on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.” His reoccurring role on “Reno 911!” put him on the mainstream map. www.myspace.com/kyledunnigan.
About Patrice O’Neal:
Patrice O’Neal got his first real taste of standup at a place called Estelle’s in Boston, where he heckled a comic. The comic suggested maybe O’Neal thought he could do better. He did and the following week, O’Neal went onstage and brought down the house. From there he went on to work at The Comedy Connection and then moved to working at most of the clubs in and around Boston, New England and New York. O’Neal has appeared on many television shows, including full length specials for HBO, Showtime and Comedy Central, plus several appearances on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” “Def Comedy Jam” and he even had his own series on VH1 titled “Web Junk: 20.”
About Jamie Kaler:
Jamie Kaler is an American standup comedian and actor who has gained fame by portraying the character Mike Callahan on the TBS comedy “My Boys.” He has appeared on such talk shows as “The Late Late Show” and had a recurring role on “Will and Grace.” Kaler also lends his voice to the show “Robot Chicken,” as the suicidal blooper host. He is a member of the ACME Company, ACME Comedy Theatre’s top-level sketch company and has also made guest appearances on “Friends” and “Monk.”
About Mike Bunin:
Born in Norfolk, Virginia, Michael Bunin spent the majority of his youth in Las Vegas where he attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and studied Theater Arts. His improvisational skills were honed at The Second City Players Workshop in Chicago and the famed Groundlings in Los Angeles. After guest stints on NBC’s “Scrubs,” CBS’s “CSI” and Lifetime’s “Strong Medicine,” Bunin landed his first series regular role in 2006 as Kenny on TBS’s sitcom “My Boys.” Bunin has been a staple at The Improv Olympic West in Los Angeles where he continues to display his improvisational talents.
About Ian Bagg:
In 1996, Ian Bagg moved to New York City after starting his career in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1994. He became a regular at the Comic Strip and the Comedy Cellar in New York and immediately ended up doing three appearances on the “Conan O’Brien Show,” the Aspen Comedy Festival and the Montreal Comedy Festival as well as stand up spots on HBO’s “Showcase Comics,” “Friday Nights” and his first small film role in Tim Robbins film “The Cradle Will Rock.” After moving to Los Angeles in 2000, Bagg performed in several independent films, appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn and Craig Ferguson,” had his own “Comedy Central Presents” special and made an appearance on The History Channel’s “History of the Joke.”
About April Macie:
April Macie travels the world collecting stories and experiences, which she then translates into humorous, relatable tales in front of audiences worldwide. Macie has been to more than 23 countries, nine of those performing stand-up comedy for the troops, was a finalist on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” has appeared on E! Entertainment, Sirius and XM radio, Access Hollywood, Talk Soup and was labeled an “emerging talent to watch” by the Hollywood Reporter at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival. She is a regular guest on the Howard Stern show, where she was voted the “Funniest and Hottest” comedian in America. Macie is currently being featured in the documentary, “I Am Comic” which premiered at the 2010 Slamdance Film Festival.
