Rhumbar Las Vegas Introduces Its 100-Calorie “Skinny” Margarita (With Recipe)

Rhumbar Las Vegas at The Mirage MuchachitaThe newest drink to hit the menu at Havanatone, RHUMBAR’s sizzling Latin night, also comes without any guilt. The new “Muchachita” is a skinny, 100-calorie margarita, featuring a delicious blend of pomegranate and Aloe Vera. Now guests can samba and shake while they sip this low calorie libation on Wednesday nights.

Concocted by award-winning mixologist Kristen Schaefer, the “Muchachita” blends the fresh taste of Aloe Vera with fruity flavors of pomegranate and lime. Milagro Silver tequila completes this delicious and healthy cocktail.

“We wanted to create a cocktail that embraced the high-energy vibe of Havanatone,” said Schaefer. “Not only is the ‘Muchachita’ delicious, added nutrients from the Aloe Vera and pomegranate juices help to promote good health. So now guests can skip the gym and enjoy a night of Latin dancing and margaritas – and still feel healthy about it.”

The Muchachita:

2 ounces El Sol Pomegranate Aloe Vera Juice
3/4 ounces fresh lime juice
1.5 ounces of Milagro Silver tequila.

Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice and strain. Served with a lime wheel.

Havanatone, Vegas’ only Latin night under the stars, transforms RHUMBAR’s patio into the sexiest dance floor on the Strip every Wednesday night. Talented dancers from Rumba Rica will salsa and cha cha to live music and Latin beats by DJ Gerard Fortuna. The spicy night begins at 9 p.m. with a complimentary dance instruction for revelers that want to partake in the Latin fervor. As the night heats up, “Havanatone” will thrill audiences with fiery numbers and heart-pounding performances choreographed to the eruption of the iconic Mirage volcano.

RHUMBAR is a highly-stylized cocktail and cigar lounge inspired by the cool mood of the Caribbean. The plush outdoor patio is reminiscent of a tropical retreat offering a picturesque location for guests to mingle, sip cocktails and smoke cigars. Located near the main entrance of The Mirage, RHUMBAR is owned and operated by Drive This! Entertainment. The lounge and patio are open from 11 a.m. until midnight Sunday through Wednesday, and 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.

New York–New York Hotel & Casino welcomed REO Speedwagon to Rok Vegas Nightclub as they hosted their After–Concert Party Friday, July 23. The American rock band, which consists of members Dave Amato, Kevin Cronin, Neal Doughty, Bruce Hall, and Bryan Hitt, performed live in concert, along with Pat Benatar, at the Thomas – Mack Center at UNLV at 7 p.m. and continued the party as they celebrated at Vegas‘ coolest rock–inspired nightclub.

Upon arriving shortly after midnight, the band hit the red carpet for a few photos, along with Illusionist Criss Angel and Comedian Carrot Top, and then headed inside Rok where they were taken to a swank VIP table that overlooked the entire nightclub. Complete with bottle service that included vodka cocktails and beer, the band chatted, toasted, and laughed amongst one another as they enjoyed the rock beats inside the venue. Vegas’ Favorite Band, Zowie Bowie, Makes Triumphant Return To Red Rock Las Vegas

Back by popular demand, Zowie Bowie is making a return to Red Rock Resort. The duo brings its unique blend of today’s hottest dance, hip-hop and Top 40 music to audiences at Rocks Lounge every Friday, beginning Sept. 3, 2010.

Zowie Bowie features the musical talents and unbridled energy of Chris Phillips, Marley Taylor and a high-voltage band that creates a sizzling and sexy sound that has become a Las Vegas mainstay. The two moved to Vegas in 2006 from Scottsdale, Ariz. to open and perform weekly at Red Rock Resort, where they quickly went on to become the city’s favorite local band. After three years, the pair moved to the Strip where they performed both their nightclub dance concert and their dream of an authentic Vintage Vegas show. Though it was their dream, the couple realized that performing for the locals at Red Rock Resort was really where they wanted to be.

“It was amazing getting to perform on the Strip, however we missed the fans that our shows at Red Rock brought in week after week,” said Zowie Bowie Lead Singer Chris Phillips. “After hearing an overwhelming response from locals that they too missed us at Red Rock, we realized that is where we truly belong and the move back just feels right.”

“We’re excited to have Zowie Bowie back at Rocks Lounge,” said Judy Alberti, vice president of entertainment for Station Casinos. “They’re adding to the unparalleled entertainment we offer at Red Rock from our Sandbar outdoor poolside concerts this summer that features top artists such as Rob Thomas, Don Henley and Train, to our Party on the Rocks concert series every Saturday night. And with the newly opened Yard House to start off the night, the party will keep going, ever reinforcing that Red Rock is a one-stop destination for dining and entertainment.”

Zowie Bowie will perform every Friday night, beginning Sept. 3 at Rocks Lounge, Red Rock Resort’s intimate 150-seat venue. Doors open at 10 p.m. and the show will start at 11 p.m. The show is open to adults 21 years or older and there is no cost for admission. VIP bottle service is available upon request. Entry will be first come, first served and based upon venue capacity.
