Las Vegas audiences can’t get enough of Venetian headliner Wayne Brady. After a brief hiatus, BASE Entertainment and The Venetian are pleased to announce the return of Brady’s hit show, Making It Up beginning Thursday, May 28.

“Las Vegas and The Venetian have been a great home these past three years, and I love giving audiences a show unlike any other on The Strip,” says Brady. “No two shows are ever the same – my partner Jonathan and I, stage a new form of old school showbiz and make each show a one-of-a kind experience.”

Heralded as “pure genius,” “hysterically funny” and “amazing,” Brady’s show is a guaranteed hit. Making It Up can be seen over select performance dates, including May 27 – 31, June 17 – 21, 24 – 28 and July 1 – 5.

Since he started performing Making It Up in April 2007, Brady has lived up to its title. Not only does he create a different show each night with improv partner Jonathan Mangum, he is also constantly adding new elements to the line-up, making each show an original.

Brady is well known for his hilarious improvised antics, unique musical talents and limitless impersonation skills as showcased on the hit show “Whose Line is it Anyway?” and the syndicated talk show “The Wayne Brady Show.” In addition to Making It Up, Brady can also be seen as the quick-witted host of the returning hit game show “Let’s Make A Deal” on CBS.

Campus MovieFest (CMF), the world’s largest student film festival, concludes its 2009-10 tour with its International Grand Finale (IGF) at the remarkable Wynn Las Vegas. From June 10-13, CMF will host student filmmakers from across the globe at a weekend full of events – including screenings of over 200 movies, industry workshops, networking opportunities, alumni gatherings, concerts, and a red-carpet, star-studded final ceremony at the Encore Theater.

Thanks to presenting partner AT&T, nearly 75,000 students from universities throughout the world signed up for CMF and received everything they needed to make a five minute movie in a week all for free – including Apple laptops, Panasonic HD cameras, and AT&T Samsung phones. The movies screening at IGF highlight the best of the best from over 50 participating schools, giving students an opportunity to share their movies with their peers, guests in Las Vegas, and industry leaders. Throughout Friday and Saturday, CMF will screen Best Comedy, Best Drama and Best Picture selections from around the country. In addition, CMF will announce the finalists of the Elfenworks Social Justice Award, screen selected movies that aired on AT&T U-verse, and screen AT&T Golden Mobile Finalists from around the country.

“Our national search for the next great college artists has turned up some superb talent. We’re really excited about that the national battle at Wynn Las Vegas. The participating artists sound fantastic and we’re expecting a great show at Tryst,” said Michael Seminer, Director of College Battle of the Bands.

IGF concludes with a gala ceremony where the 2010 Campus MovieFest Best Comedy, Best Drama, and Best Picture winners will be announced by special celebrity presenters. Top students during this year’s CMF World Tour will have earned over $400,000 in cash and prizes.

CMF began nine years ago when four students at Emory University provided fellow students with everything they needed to make movies in one week. Since then, more than 250,000 students have told their stories on the big screen, receiving all the necessary technology and training for free thanks to corporate partners and schools. Past winners have walked away with over $2 million in prizes and seen their films on the big screens at CMF events nationwide, at Cannes, at Paramount Studios, and on millions of smaller screens – including AT&T mobile devices and U-verse TV, in-flight on Virgin America, and online.

Indie rock bands gather for a night of music to benefit humanitarian organization

Harrah’s Las Vegas is pleased to announce a partnership with celebrated Chef Kerry Simon, in a brand new concept – KGB: Kerry’s Gourmet Burgers – offering the ultimate in burger selections with the Simon flair. The restaurant is scheduled to open in early July 2010 in the heart of Harrah’s Las Vegas resort, serving lunch, dinner and late-night bites.

Dubbed the “Rock-n-Roll” Chef by Rolling Stone magazine, Simon has created a brand of sexy restaurants with a distinct vibe. At KGB, Simon will take inspiration from his victory on Food Network’s “Iron Chef America” where he prevailed over Iron Chef Cat Cora with the ultimate burger. He’ll parlay that burger success into a menu of uniquely inventive burger offerings, signature snacks and sides including “Iron Chef” sliders and tater tots and sweet selections such as strawberry shortcake push pops.

“We are delighted to partner with such an innovative chef as Kerry Simon,” said Rick Mazer, president of Harrah’s Las Vegas. “This concept will offer our guests a fresh approach to gourmet burgers, boasting an upbeat nightlife scene in a playful atmosphere designed as a James Bond-inspired send-up of Soviet-era Russia.”

Offering more than 156 seats, KGB’s sleek modern design will feature wall coverings based on 1960′s Russian propaganda posters and thematic fixtures will create a hip yet comfortable vibe. At the full service bar, a wide array of vodkas will be offered where customers can utilize the ice bar feature for the perfectly chilled specialty drink. A vodka hostess will engage patrons throughout the evening, pairing burger selections with the ideal vodka cocktail.

“From the design and décor to the menu and ambiance, everything is very personal to me. It is always my goal to create a restaurant where guests have a memorable experience and they feel like they could come back and eat every day,” said Simon. “KGB offers a unique high-energy setting with the most delicious burgers anywhere.”

KGB is open 11am – 11pm weekdays and 11am – 2am weekends. Large TV screens will rotate from the large sports events to retro-style images. All burgers, sides and snacks will be crafted in-house from responsibly raised meats and market fresh produce.
