Get “Pinked” At Roni Josef International Salon & Spa To Support The American Cancer Society In Making Strides Against Breast Cancer®

Purchase a pink hair clip extension from any Roni Josef International Salon & Spa location, proceeds go to the fight against breast cancer

Roni Josef International Salon & Spa has been a huge advocate of the American Cancer Society and its work in the fight against all forms of cancer and fundraising for research and creating a cure. Although all forms of cancer are a serious issue, breast cancer has been an escalating concern among women around the world. To support October National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to help raise funds for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer®, the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer awareness and fundraising event, all three locations of Roni Josef International Salon & Spa will be selling handmade pink hair clips extensions for $10 apiece with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the organization. The hair accessory will be available in the salons beginning Monday, September 21 and can be purchased through the month of October.

The team at Roni Josef International Salon & Spa have ties that run deep with the fight against breast cancer. Many of the employees who work at Roni Josef salons either have had a family member, a friend or they themselves have suffered through breast cancer. Some can proudly declare they are survivors while others remember those who have been lost. One survivor at the salon who has been a huge proponent of breast cancer awareness is Roni Josef stylist Linda Benitez, a five-year breast cancer survivor. It was Benitez who came up with the idea of creating pink hair clip extensions to show solidarity in the battle against breast cancer.

“We wanted to help the American Cancer Society raise funds for breast cancer research but needed to do something different outside of wearing the pink ribbon and soliciting donations,” said Benitez. “We came up with the idea of creating these hair clips extensions dyed pink so people could easily clip it in their hair to make a statement and to show solidarity for the cause. We wanted to create the pieces by hand to let everyone know that these were made by people like my fellow co-worker Regina Tillak-lal who is a one-year breast cancer survivor, who care, understand and will help the fight. The money goes to researching, educating and assisting those who have or may one day have breast cancer. As a survivor and having gone through a double mastectomy, I want to help women so they will never have to know what it feels like to have their breasts removed.”

In addition to selling pink hair clip extensions, the Roni Josef locations will be collecting monetary contributions for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer®. To purchase a pink hair clip extension, visit any of the Roni Josef International Salon & Spa locations (St. Rose Parkway and S. Eastern Avenue in Henderson; N. Craig Road and Tenaya Way in the Northwest; and at the Stratosphere Hotel & Casino) or at the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® 5K fundraising walk to honor friends or relatives who have been touched by breast cancer on Saturday, October 3 at 8 a.m. at the J.W. Marriott Resort in Summerlin.

About the American Cancer Society:
The American Cancer Society combines an unyielding passion with nearly a century of experience to save lives and end suffering from cancer. As a global grassroots force of more than three million volunteers, the organization fights for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. They save lives by helping people stay well by preventing cancer or detecting it early; helping people get well by being there for them during and after a cancer diagnosis; by finding cures through investment in groundbreaking discovery; and by fighting back by rallying lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and by rallying communities worldwide to join the fight. As the nation’s largest non-governmental investor in cancer research, contributing more than $3.4 billion, the Society turns what they know about cancer into what they do. As a result, more than 11 million people in America who have had cancer and countless more who have avoided it will be celebrating birthdays this year.
