Talk radio and television personality Sean Hannity will headline the Freedom Concert at the Orleans Arena on August 8, beginning at 8 p.m. All proceeds from the concert series, now in its sixth year, will go toward the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund for the dependents of U.S. military personnel who have been killed or permanently disabled in an operational mission or training accident.

Legendary recording artists Melissa Manchester and Imelda Papin will share the stage and showcase their award-winning sounds in a limited engagement at The Orleans Showroom, July 31 – August 2.

The veteran performers will come together in a musical milestone, giving audiences a rare concert experience that combines their two powerhouse voices. Manchester, a compelling singer and songwriter, has numerous hits to her credit, including “Midnight Blue,” “Through The Eyes of Love” and “Don’t Cry Out Loud.” Philippine music icon Papin has recently earned praise for her “Voice of the Heart” album, highlighted by a danceable and hip beat duet with Ron Dante of The Archies, the original singer of the worldwide No. 1 hit “Sugar, Sugar.”

Grammy Award-winning Manchester’s rise to fame began with a stint as a back-up singer for Bette Midler. She went on to earn her own recording contract, headline at both Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall, and dazzle sold-out venues around the country. Celebrated as much for her songwriting as for her singing, Manchester co-wrote the classic “Whenever I Call You Friend” with Kenny Loggins. After prevailing as undefeated champion in a regional singing contest, Papin’s family realized her talent and moved to Manila. Papin established herself as a performer and appeared on television programs in Hong Kong and Bangkok. Papin has recorded multiple hits such as “We Could Have It All,” “Katarungan” and “Bawal” and is a frequent headliner in showrooms throughout Las Vegas and Atlantic City. The world’s foremost practitioners in the art of off-road motorcycle racing return to the Orleans Arena on July 25 for the 2009 GEICO Powersports AMA EnduroCross Series opener.

Showcasing international and American motorcycle stars, including Las Vegas-area racers, on a variety of off-road machines, EnduroCross promises high-flying, rock-busting, mud-running, tree-trunk-crossing action seen no where else in the world of indoor motorsports. The action combines multiple off-road motorcycle racing disciplines, including western U.S. desert enduro racing and eastern cross-country racing with technical trials-style riding.

WHAT: Actor Don Cheadle and poker pro Annie Duke yesterday co-hosted the third annual Ante Up For Africa tournament, which is hosted on the eve of the World Series of Poker Main Event and since 2007 has raised nearly $2.5 million to build awareness for the humanitarian crisis in Darfur, Sudan, and support those who are victimized by it.

Everyone who participates in Ante Up For Africa pays a $5,000 entry fee and is encouraged to donate a portion of any winnings for the immediate benefit of ENOUGH and the International Rescue Committee. Last night’s winner – Alex Bolotin of Brooklyn, NY – donated half of his winnings. In all, the third annual Ante Up For Africa raised $362,000.

Stand-up comic, producer and writer Drew Carey, brings his award-winning talent to The Terry Fator Theatre at The Mirage Friday, August 28 and Saturday, August 29 at 10 p.m. Carey is best known for his self-titled series “The Drew Carey Show,” the innovative improv show “Whose Line is it Anyway?,” and for hosting the hit CBS television show “The Price is Right.” Joining Carey is the talented cast of The Improv All Stars: Ryan Stiles, Kathy Kinney, Chip Esten, Jeff Davis, Sean Masterson, Julie Larson and Laura Hall on piano.

Carey will start the show with his stand-up comedy, and then the cast will join him onstage for an unscripted, unrehearsed, no-holds-barred laugh fest.
