Colabo Theatre Company Will Be Doing Excerpts From Hedwig And The Angry Inch On The Land Rover Stage At First Friday Jan 2 From 6-7pm

COLABO THEATRE COMPANY offers professional stagings of popular shows. They currently offer three shows.

HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH (Saturdays, 8pm) is a rock musical set after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Hedwig is the epitome of Glam Rock. She tells her life story through a series of beautifully bitter and comforting songs. Hedwig struggles with her past love, Tommy Gnosis, and her ownself-identity. Once you experience the beauty that is Hedwig, you will never forget her.

LIGHT MY FIRE (Fridays, 8pm) Jim Morrison¹s poetry, outrageous antics, and timeless music, magically comes to life and is retold by the Wild Child himself. This show takes you back to the tumultuous 1960¹s, when a young and charismatic college dropout, became the voice of a generation. Is Everybody in? Because the Ceremony is about to begin! Break on through to the other side with LIGHT MY FIRE!

AN EVENING WITH BILLIE HOLIDAY (Sundays, 5pm) takes you back to an era of juke joints, zoot suits, big bands, and jazz. The time is 1959. The place is a seedy bar in Philadelphia. The audience is about to witness one of Billie Holiday’s last performances, given four months before her death. More than a dozen musical numbers are interlaced with salty, often humorous recollections to project a riveting portrait of the lady and her music. God Bless the Child who misses this performance!

Since his worldwide return to the stage in 2006, more than one million people have seen BILLY JOEL in peak form, delivering more than two hours of hits at each performance. In July 2008, BILLY JOEL became the only artist to sell-out three of New York’s outdoor sporting venues including Shea Stadium, Yankee Stadium and Giants Stadium.

Tiger Sharks Now Lurk At Mandalay Bay – Species Ranked Second Deadliest To Great White Shark

Two female tiger sharks now rule the waters of Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay.  The only tiger sharks available for viewing in the U.S., these exciting new additions can be identified by their distinct tiger-striped markings in the 1.6-million-gallon aquarium.

“We are delighted to unveil these powerful predators to our guests of Shark Reef Aquarium,” said Adrienne Rowland, the facility”s director.  “The tiger sharks demonstrate Shark Reef”s goal to raise awareness and appreciation of our world”s fascinating marine life.”

Attributing to the tiger sharks” impressive reputation are their sharp, serrated teeth, powerful jaw and insatiable, non-discriminating appetite.  These sharks have been known to consume unusual items such as license plates, tires, baseballs and other debris – earning them the moniker “garbage cans of the sea.”

Currently, Shark Reef”s two tiger sharks are more than six feet in length, and the species can reach up to 14 feet in length.  The scavengers lurk in shallow, coastal waters in tropical and temperate regions such as Hawaii and Australia.

The tiger sharks join an impressive group of animals at Shark Reef Aquarium, a 90,560-square-foot, predator-based aquarium – the only one of its kind in North America.

Since its debut in 2000, Shark Reef Aquarium has become a must-see Las Vegas attraction and educational facility, where adults and children alike can enjoy and learn about more than 2,000 divinely dangerous animals including a rare Komodo dragon, a giant Pacific octopus, sharks, crocodiles and piranhas.

Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday – Thursday; and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday.  Ticket prices are $16.95 for adults and $10.95 for children; children four and under are free.  Discounts are available for Nevada residents with valid ID.
