Bellagio Gallery Of Proper Art In Vegas Debuts “Fabergé Revealed”

Showcasing 238 rare Fabergé artifacts, “Fabergé Revealed” is organized in partnership with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. A portion of the biggest public collection of Fabergé outside of Russia, these treasures are symbolic of the exquisite craftsmanship, immaculate taste and decadent history of the Russian imperial family in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Unique for this exhibition is a small assortment of “Fauxbergé” objects – Fabergé look-alikes once thought to be originals.

“These treasured objects encompass the beauty of art while also telling one of the most powerful stories in history – the fall of the Russian imperial family,” stated BGFA Executive Director Tarissa Tiberti. “‘Fabergé Revealed’ will highlight each of the distinct styles displayed in the original House of Fabergé stores in St. Petersburg, Moscow and London centuries ago.”

Through the late 1800s and early 1900s, the House of Fabergé created more than 150,000 pieces of art, jewels and silver articles – many of which were one-of-a-kind with detailed artistry and design. “Fabergé Revealed” features signature pieces from Fabergé’s original collection, such as the Imperial Pelican Easter Egg (1897), produced to celebrate the Dowager Empress of Russia. The red-gold egg opens into eight oval frames graduated in size, each rimmed with pearls and inscribed with the names of the institutions appear on the front. A pelican stands inside a nest atop the egg and feeds her young, as a symbol of maternal care.

BGFA’s current exhibition “Painting Women: Works from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston” will close October 17, 2014 to create room for the brand new exhibition. “Fabergé Revealed” is going to be in view November 14, 2014 through May 25, 2015. Tickets are $17; $14 for Nevada citizens and senior citizens 65 and older and $12 for students, teachers and military with valid ID. Admission is free for children 12 and younger.

BGFA is open daily 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Last admissions are sold 30 minutes before closing.

Harvest Display Brings Crisp, Autumn Air To Bellagio Gardens

The arrival of fall is welcomed at Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens with scents, scenery and sounds that celebrate the crisp season. The harvest show is on
display through November 30 and features such fall favorites as oversized orange-yellow leaves, pumpkins of all shapes and sizes and more than 51,000 seasonal flowers.

Bellagio Gardens Fall Display 2014 Las Vegas

The focal point of the harvest display, a 40-feet-tall watermill, produces a calming atmosphere as it pumps water into the water-feature below. Near the watermill, a
ten-foot-tall papa bear and 6-foot-tall baby bear frolic inside a pumpkin patch alongside two immense floral apples, each apple is made using more than 1,200 red
carnations. Each bear’s “fur” is covered in reindeer moss while vibrant hydrangeas and yarrow embellish their vests.

Two glittering pergolas, accompanied by twinkling birch trees and water archways illuminated with fall colors produce a dazzling pathway and photo opp for visitors in the
entrance from the Conservatory.

A 28-foot-tall enchanted speaking tree welcomes visitors towards the Conservatory in the North Garden. Fall leaves and extra-large acorns decorate the tree’s branches and
roots which give a home to a couple of playful animated squirrels. A stylish trough with colorful dancing water and flowers sits among the roots of the tree as two
horses, composed of floral hydrangeas, yarrow and dune grass, relax nearby.

Visitors will encounter a 12-foot-tall harvest basket filled with seasonal delights together with pumpkins varying in dimensions from 450 to 1,200 pounds in the South
Garden. Within the basket, two mystical wooden forest creatures stand guard, looking after the pumpkin harvest that spills out to the garden. Another mythical figure
stands nearby, at 10 ft tall, beckoning visitors nearer to the gathering.

Two live 45-minute musical performances occur daily from 4:30 – 5:15 p.m. and 5:45 – 6:30 p.m., filling Bellagio’s Conservatory with sounds of violins, flutes and harps.
Visitors will love a violin solo Sunday through Thursday along with a flute and harp duo Fridays and Saturdays.

In partnership with the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art’s exhibit “Painting Women,” the Conservatory has produced a floral interpretation of Georgia O’Keeffe’s Red Tree,
Yellow Sky using 1,200 mixed cut flowers. Situated within the Giardini corner, the recreated painting is fitted inside a 6-foot-tall ornately created frame.

The harvest display is on view through November 30 at the Bellagio’s Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, which is open 24 hrs each day, 7 days per week and is free to the
